Section 28
Work, Duties and Powers of the Board of Directors
: (1) The work, duties and powers of the Board of Directors shall be as follows:-
(a) To carry out the study and research of the economic and technical aspect of the business related to the direct sale or distribution of goods in a simple and easy manner,
(b) To instruct the department to carry out the necessary study and research work for the appropriate amendment in such law in view of the implementation of the law related to the direct sale or distribution of goods,
(c) To formulate a short-term and long-term policy to be adopted in relation to protecting the rights and interests of consumers by making the direct sale or distribution of goods safe, orderly and limited, and submitting them to the Government of Nepal. (d) to direct the Department to take necessary measures to prevent unfair commercial activities relating to direct sale or distribution of goods,
(e) Coordinate and supervise the work done by the monitoring committee and give instructions as needed (f) To perform other tasks as specified.
(2) The Board of Directors may form a sub-committee as necessary to carry out any work as per sub-section (1).
(3) The work, duties and rights of the sub-committee to be formed in accordance with sub-section (2) shall be as prescribed by the steering committee.
